Why does nobody seem to know who joe flacco is?

this is coming from a patriots fan. i dont like the ravens but im just wondering why joe flacco didn't get a single vote for offfensive rookie of the year despite leading a formerly pathetic offense into one that can actually score and leading his team to 11-5 and a wild card spot. he has only one solid reciever in derek mason and matt ryan has a great cast, and even though he has a good running game so does ryan. is there a reason nobody seems to know he exists?
