What is so important about Anne Frank?

I don't get it at all. Anne Frank had an experience with the Navi: so did everyone else! She didn't put any effort into saving other peoples' lifes, just her own. She went into hiding for 2 years. The only difference about it is that she just happened to have her diary with her when she went into concentration camp and got it published by her dad when she died. Seriously, what is so important about that?
