I feel like i was a jerk to my boyfriend?

i was talking on the phone to my boyfriend. he was listening to our favorite song and started tearing up. i really didnt know what to say so i was kind of just like awww.. and started talking about the song. and then i changed the subject. i just kind of felt awkward when he said that. he told me he was upset later on because it didnt seem to have an impact on me and he doesnt cry much and stuff. anyways.. i feel like he's more emotional than me which im totally fine with but i just dont know how to react! i know i sound like a total jerk.. but what should i do in situations like this?
